The cosmopolitan old town with the tall impressive houses, the picturesque alleys and the two imposing fortresses has an italian air as Venetians have left a distinct mark, having ruled the island for over 400 years.

On the northeast coast of the island there is a hideaway heaven with a legendary horseshoe-shaped bay. This is Kalami, our home, in the heart of Corfiot Riviera.

Graceful cypresses, wise olive trees, magnificent rock formations and most emerald calm waters, characterize this idyllic spot, located at 28 km from Corfu town, which has become legendary as its landscape inspired the English writer Lawrence Durrell for his novel “Prospero’s Cell.” Lawrence and his wife Nancy lived in the seaside White House in the 1930’s and absolutely fell in love with the location and people.

Apart from its connection to the Durrells, Kalami is also famous as it was the setting for the 1981 James Bond movie ‘For Your Eyes Only” and the 1978 film ‘The Greek Tycoon’.
